 This certificate is required for industrial equipment used for inflammable, ignitable, explosive and other hazardous materials and for those that pose an environmental threat particularly in petrochemical and other relevant industries. This document, formerly known as GGTN (Gosgortekhnadzor) was centralized in Russia after 2004 to be on the federal platform and named as RTN (Rostekhnadzor).
Primary products and equipment that require RTN Certification :
Valves and clamps used for petrochemical and gas plants
Load and human elevators and escalators
Industrial cranes, building cranes and elevators
Air and gas compressors
Pressurized containers
All systems accommodating, producing and carrying hot
steam
Ex-Proof electro-mechanical equipment requiring ATEX
features
Special storage units : Gas and petrol tanks, tanks for
flammable-inflammable or toxic materials
All systems producing heat from gas, boilers and blast
furnaces
Welding operations that pose a risk and equipment
related therewith
All equipment used for oil refineries
All equipment used for mining and underground
applications
Metal melting furnaces

RTN Certificate is issued on Lot-Basis or Mass Production basis (generally for 3 years). Different RTN Certificates can be issued for one product, but for different purposes of use. For example, if a valve is to be used at an oil refinery, an expert report is issued according to certain criteria and an application is filed for certification. But if the valve is to be used at a gas station, it is evaluated according to different parameters and pressure values and the certificate could be different accordingly.

A prior GOST-R Certificate is a
precondition to obtain a RTN Certificate for a product.
These two procedures can be conducted simultaneously.
For RTN procedures, technical characteristics and
engineering calculations play an important role.
RTN Certificates can be issued in various forms for
products or a production line that produces a specific
product or a process with a predetermined frame.

Documents or other quality documents (ISO 9000, TÜV, etc.)
You will not be asked to present any samples, but
detailed technical documentation and engineering
calculations which will be examined by a competent
institution and an Expert Report will be issued
according to the technical requirements.
Your RTN Certificate will be obtained upon an
application to be filed with the said Expert Report by
ourselves with the relevant authorities in Moscow.
Important Note : Please note that it takes about
2 months to complete these procedures in order to meet
your deadlines. |
